There are three steps that need to be followed and evaluated for Graduate admissions.

The first procedure is the analysis which will be done by the academic unit. This is to consider factors like the candidate’s overall performance, references, among others.

Then the Associate Dean’s Office evaluates the application for admission requirements. If the application is approved by the Associate Dean’s Office, the application will be sent to the Graduate Studies Office where it will be examined again.

If the application is approved by the Graduate Studies Office, a request for admission will be granted.

A general evaluation proceeds for Undergraduate admissions will include; checking program-specific requirements, checking general admission requirements, evaluation of academic performance, and English proficiency scores.

The University of Waterloo also encourages candidates to come for interviews in order to examine the capabilities of the candidates. This interview will allow officials to know more about candidates, which can also help a candidate to secure a spot at the university.
