Are you a student pursuing a career in primary health care professions? Do you wish to access comprehensive training and mentorship through real-life experience? Then apply for the National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program (NHSC SP), an innovative program that provides financial aid to students seeking to access intensive training In their fields of study.

Eligible candidates will be sponsored to receive the training and experience they need, however, as compensation for their scholarships, beneficiaries must agree to deliver primary health care services in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs).

Past and present beneficiaries of NHSC SP have shown commitment to delivering care and treatments to communities who don’t have enough assets to render health care to themselves.

The scholarship covers the expenses for Postsecondary Education, tuition, and other fees and educational costs. Candidates of the scholarship can benefit from the program for up to four years.

Candidates will also be offered monthly stipends to help them pay for a living.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this scholarship opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements.

  • Must be a United States citizen or legal resident of the United States.
  • Candidates must submit a provide a birth certificate granted in the United States by a local, county, or a state agency.
  • Must be enrolled or have received an invitation to study a full-time program at an accredited institute.

Scholarships will be awarded to only candidates who start classes on or before September 30, 2021. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited school in one of the 50 American States, District of Columbia (D.C.), or any United States territory. These territories include Puerto Rico Commonwealth, Virgin Islands, Northern Marian Commonwealth, Marshall Islands Republic, Guam, Palau Republic, American Samoa, and the Federated States of Micronesia.

Candidates who have current duties to a federal, state, or other organisation for professional reasons or responsibilities after academic study are not eligible to apply for the scholarship, except the organisation provides the Secretary of Health and Services (HHS) a written statement clarifying that they show no possible conflict towards the NHSC SP agenda.

How To Apply

To apply for the scholarship opportunity, candidates are to complete the online application form.

Candidates selected for the scholarship program will be notified via their email before the scholarship deadline, September 30. Candidates selected for the scholarship program are to confirm in the notice of their email/letter, candidates who don’t confirm before the deadline will forfeit the award and the award will be given to someone else.

Candidates who respond by the deadline will be asked to sign the NHSC SP contract, then complete the online banking form for direct deposit. Candidates who can’t begin classes on or before September 30 are to decline the award.
