The Folds of Honor scholarship is a program designed to ensure that families of veterans who have helped and sacrificed for the nation can access quality education. The scholarship is giving these families access to the opportunities they need at their respective educational levels. Folds of Honor strives to relieve the burden associated with the cost of education for the families of American heroes.
The application for the scholarship opportunity is open annually from February 1 to March 31. However, the deadline is extended only if March 31 falls on a weekend, then the application is closed at the end of the first business day after March 31.
The scholarships are awarded to students seeking a first bachelor’s degree. Candidates seeking to pursue a second bachelor’s degree or certificate/licensure program and already have an undergraduate bachelor’s degree are not eligible.
The scholarship offers up to $5,000 to its beneficiaries seeking to further their education. The scholarship can be renewed by reapplying each year to continue receiving fundings from the program. The scholarship awards its beneficiaries for a maximum of 4 academic years.
To apply for the Folds of Honor Scholarship program, applicants are to submit their applications via the application portal. The application is not accepted through email, postal mail, or fax, it is done online. Shortlisted applicants will be notified in mid-July. And all awards and fundings are sent directly to the candidates’ educational institutions and not directly to the beneficiaries.

To start your application, click on Higher Education Scholarship Application. If you are registering more than one student then click on the pop-up that allows you to name each application for easier identification when logging back into the account.
Start your application and after you have completed the application you can check the page that shows the icons of all sections, there is a dropdown menu in the top right-hand corner that reads “Choose Action”. Click on the menu and select preview application. This will allow you to go through your entire application from top to bottom without submitting yet. You can also print a copy of your application by clicking the printer icon in the top right-hand corner of the page. However, this doesn’t show your uploaded content or documents. You are advised to review your documents separately to ensure they are accurate and complete.
If you are satisfied and wish to continue with your application, you can return to your dashboard, in the top right-hand corner, next to the Choose Action dropdown, click the red “Final Review and Submit” button. After successfully submitting your application, you will receive an email verification. After submitting, you can choose to log back in to see your application status which would say “Submitted”.
