Brigham Young University is offering scholarships to new and existing students seeking to pursue a degree in their University. All students, regardless of the circumstances, are urged to apply for the scholarship opportunity. The scholarship is open to both domestic and international students.

- Transfer students must complete at least 12 credit hours at the university on or before the February 1 deadline to apply for academic scholarships.
- Freshmen can apply for admission during their starting semesters. Students who haven’t been offered admission should apply for scholarships before the deadline to be considered, their scholarships will be processed and granted after they have been offered admission.
- Freshman scholarships are determined by the candidate’s academic scores including GPA and the test scores of the ACT/SAT.

Russell M. Nelson Scholarship
To apply for this scholarship opportunity, candidates must submit an essay in order to be considered for the scholarship award. The scores and achievements of the applicants will be assessed and evaluated by the scholarship board, if candidates are eligible, they will be granted scholarships.
National Merit Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity offers students funding to cover tuition for up to 8 semesters.
Sterling Scholarship Competition
This award is merit-based, therefore only students with outstanding academic achievements are eligible to apply for this scholarship opportunity. The scholarship is for high school students in Utah. To apply, the high school of the participant must nominate a student who will take part in different assessment processes. The board will pick semi-finalists who will go and compete at the regional levels.

How To Apply
To apply for any of the programs you may be eligible for, you need to submit complete the 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and send your application to Brigham Young University before January 20, 2022. Candidates who are less than 30 years of age are to include their parent’s information in the FAFSA.
